What we did today in class was just listening to one of our friends' group to present their work/life balance presentation. Their presentation was good and had some interesting points. Particularly I like their company names which is J&F Company. I assumed that it was held by each of their members' name (Jerefyn, Jessica, Flin & Faiz). What they had presented made me more understand of what work/life balance about. They were focusing on one important point which was about an event where every member of company can gather and play games together with good prizes.
After the presentation, Mrs. Suma let us do anything we wanted because there would be no more lecture. So our team decided to go to study room and discussed the project. We had arguments towards the concept of our business. But at the end, the issues were solved and disclosed.
I think that's what I've done for the day..
Thank you.

First activity for today was continuing to discuss the minutes that we had previously. We still talked about the name of the company and what business our company is doing and yet talking about how to write minutes according to our team coordinator's style. Our group took more time to decide something, and it had been 1 hour to discuss.
For second activity, Mrs. Suma showed us a video of Richard Branson who is the chairman of Virgin Company. This video was related to the work/life balance which is important for us in doing the project. It was amazing when I heard about his stories in achieving his goals and roads to success. Virgin Company has about 50,000 employees, isn't it great?
Second video was even more amazing which is Cameron Johnson who became a millionaire at 21 years old. He has 12 business at that time. He started to learn business at his age of 9. He just wanted to be like Donald Trumph, so he was telling how he got motivated by him. What a wonderful story that he was telling..
At last but not least, Mrs. Suma remind us to submit the meeting minutes for next week.

We played a bugs maze game today in computer lab. It's quite interesting to predict how many steps and which directions the bug is supposed to go to reach finish line. After playing it, we were asked to gather in our group to discuss about work/life project all together with the first and second minutes. In the class, I also did cutting off name cards that Mrs. Suma asked us to do last week. Ardra helped me to cut my name cards. While doing the discussion, we also watch a presentation by someone from youtube, telling us about what Belbin Team Roles are supposed to contribute in a team. Then our team coordinator explained again about how to write minutes according to the Belbin Team Roles but I took long time to understand what he explained. As the result, our team could not finish the minutes for today and the class was just dismissed..

Problem solving was continued here by doing scenario 2 which was 'Preserving our heritage'.
This time we had team assignment to analyze the problem occurred. Then Mrs. Suma asked each of the groups to give solutions toward the problem. She concluded the main things of the assignment at the end of the discussion.
How to produce minutes was our following topic. Minutes are very important for our worklife project because it will tell us about what we have been or have not been going through toward the project in each of the meeting held. Minutes account for 10% of the assessment in this unit.
Mrs. Suma also gave us the worklife project including the marking guide, the evaluative surveys for creative problem solving and handouts about how to conduct an effective team meetings.
Note: "Homework for next week would be make a business card"

Today we were explained about problem solving. First of all, the problem has to be defined. We have to know the differentiation between fact and opinion. Specification of the causes have to be clearly determined. Gathering information is also important to support to define the problem.
Secondly, we can give solutions toward the problem. In giving solutions, we need to refer to what the goal is whether it is for short term or long term period.
Thirdly, we can choose one or more alternatives available. Evaluation on those alternatives is important to determine the main and side effects that will be occurred. After we are sure about the alternatives, selection process can be proceed.
Fourth step is implementing the solutions. This step is telling us how to implement the alternatives at the right time and sequence. Follow up can be proceed by feedback given. The most critical part in this step is to monitor the ongoing strategy that is already implemented.
After we discussed about that, we were asked to read one scenario which is titled 'Moving up in the rankings'. It is continued with analyzing the problem in the scenario individually.

I came late to class, while they were doing questions about giving voice to values. Then i just sat and did it quickly. The questions were quite difficult to be answered. After all students finished their questions, Mrs. Suma discussed some important points of the questions. This time, the topic was quite hard for me to understand. I was actually a bit blur while understanding the discussion about values. Even more, we were reading the Lisa Baxter and Ben articles which was about values in working environment. We also discussed what the important points in the articles, because we need to make a script from there. In conclusion, today at least I knew what being asked in making script from the article. So I need to understand deeper about values that have to be declare in those situations to have better conversation in the script.

Our class today was started by watching video from youtube which told us about ideas as the currency of the future. It was presented Kevin Roberts from Saatchi&Saatchi advertising company. Then it was continued by Mrs. Suma's explanation about Johari Window. It was telling us regarding to the areas that can be and cannot be known by people. There are 4 areas which are open/free area, hidden area, blind area and unknown area. Tuckman's explanation about grouping was also discussed which are forming, storming, norming, performance and adjourning.
Our lecturer gave us 4 riddles which were put at each corner of class. Then we were being asked to stand at one of the riddles that suited us according to our personalities. I stood for catalyst group which its statement was about give honour to people differences. Then we had a little discussion with everyone in catalyst group.
After a short break, we went to computer lab to do an online excercise which consist of 71 questions to determine what personalities we are having. Those are what we had in today's class.
